• Moneys

The rate of Dirham is quite stable (1L = 16.4DH). You can change money at the bank (without commission) likewise at the airport in Marrakech (but not at Essaouira airport). They are a lot of cash machine in the medina.

• How to get about

In the medina (old city inside Ramparts), you can only travel by foot. There are big paying carparks next to Bab Sbaa (the main gate when you arrive from Marrakech or Agadir by car or taxi). At each gate a you will find porters, with little cart, who will take your bags as far as your hotel (20 DH for the race). Outside the Medina, a little taxi, will take you anywhere in the new town for 6DH during the day and 7DH at night.

• Tourism office

you will find it 50m from the gate at Bab Sbaa on your left. It is open Monday to Friday from 9h-16h30.

• Climate

The climate is pleasant all the year round, but windy. The temperature is always between 18-25°.

• Flights

There is an Airport at Essaouira (Paris Essaouira). If you land at Marrakech by plane, you take a bus perfectly safely from ONCF (Supratours). Supratours offers a quick and comfortable service in an air-conditioned bus (book ahead during student holidays periods). Dayly from Marrakech (next to the train station) it will cost 65DH place and 5DH for baggage. The journey takes 2h40.
